NDO – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc strongly emphasised the issue of ensuring safety in the organisation of the 2020 high school graduation examination, during a regular Cabinet meeting in Hanoi on August 3. |
Hailing the issue as being of great public concern, the leader requested the Minister of Education and Training decide on the graduation exam and be responsible for its content, while assigning the chairpersons of the People’s Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to take charge of successfully organising the exam. The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the Ministry of Health (MOH) as well as other relevant ministries must roll out specific measures to properly implement disease prevention and control measures in each locality in the spirit of ensuring the health and safety of students, parents and teachers, he insisted. PM Phuc urged close coordination between the MOET, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education, and the Ministry of Information and Communications in communication work so that people feel assured about the thoughtful and scientific organisation of the high school graduation exam. At the meeting, MOET Minister Phung Xuan Nha reported on plans to organise the exam amidst the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, stating that all relevant preparations have thus far basically been completed. Most localities have shown determination and readiness for the graduation exam, he said, adding that the MOET has also worked with the MOH to carefully prepare the necessary conditions for the safe organisation of the exam. In the current context, the MOET recommended that students in the localities applying social distancing or F1 and F2 contacts will attend the graduation exam later than others. The ministry will direct universities to take appropriate enrollment measures to ensure students’ rights are protected. Meanwhile, localities outside social distancing and pledging to uphold all relevant safety requirements will be allowed to organise the graduation exam as scheduled. Source: Nhan Dan Online |
